Application Process

Impact100 Genesee County awards grants to nonprofits in our community that address the focus area stipulated in our Eligibility Criteria.

Eligible nonprofits may submit a Grant Application to apply for grant funding of up to $100,000. We recommend reading our eligibility criteria before proceeding.

Member volunteers review and score applications based on the following criteria before selecting a subset of organizations to move to the next phase:

1. Overall mission, vision of organization
2. Meeting unique need in the community
3. Proposed use of grant dollars

Important Dates:

April 9:  Nonprofit Grant Information Workshop

April 9:  Grant Applications Open 

May 10:  Grant Applications Due

May – July:  Grant Review 

July 30, 31 & August 5, 6: Site Visits

August 19:  Finalists Notified

August 22:  Meet the Finalist Event

September 26: “The Big Give” Voting Event & Annual Grant Awards Ceremony

Focus Areas

Arts & Culture

Greater exposure to or participation in arts and culture, expand arts education, or use art as a medium of creative expression.

Children, Families & Seniors

Strengthening and enhancing the lives of children, families, and seniors.

Education

Educational opportunities for children and/or adults, especially those that address lingering educational disparities affecting our community.

Environment, Recreation & Animal Welfare

Conservation, preservation, or improvement of natural resources; parks and recreation; agricultural sustainability; environmental education; climate action; and animal welfare.

Health & Wellness

Improve people’s mental and/or physical well-being and foster healthy living habits.

The Grants Committee ultimately selects five finalists to compete for the $100,000 grant at our Annual Meeting.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Defined as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Organizations based in Genesee County
  • In possession of at least two full years (24 months) of independently prepared, audited, or reviewed financial statement

No, each organization may submit only one grant application per year and must address the Focus Area described in the criteria.

Yes. The Impact100 Genesee County grant will not exceed $100,000, but you will be able to identify the additional funding sources for your proposal on the form.
